April 11, 2003, Midlothian. Virginia Systems announces the immediate availability of Sonar Bookends® Activate 3.0, a plug-in for Adobe Acrobat®. Sonar Bookends Activate can now create hypertext links for page number references (like "See page 12" or "Continued from page 24"). Once hypertext linked, the user only needs to click on the reference to jump to the correct page in the PDF document. Also, the entire line of a table of contents entry is now hypertext linked. Before only the page number was linked, but now clicking anywhere on a table of contents line will jump to the correct page.

Beside creating hypertext links for a table of contents and page references, Sonar Bookends Activate can also create links for an index, email addresses, URLs (web addresses) and figure/table references ("See figure 4.6).

Pricing for Sonar Bookends Activate 3.0 is $195. Anyone who purchased a copy of Sonar Bookends Activate after February 1, 2003 can get the update for free. Otherwise the update cost is $100.
