Updated Text Retrieval Systems for Mac OS X
Announced by Virginia Systems

March 30, 2003 Midlothian, Virginia. Virginia Systems announced today that it is shipping a Macintosh carbon compliant version of its flagship products Sonar and Sonar Professional. The updated versions will work under either the new Mac OS X or Mac OS 9.x.

Besides sporting an Aqua interface under OS X, the new versions have an improved PDF filter for searching and displaying Adobe Acrobat files. The retrieval systems maintain compatibility with their Windows counter parts and the Sonar Image document imaging system, providing a powerful cross-platform search and retrieval solution.

Searches can be performed using Boolean, proximity, and wild cards for both Sonar and Sonar Professional. The Professional version can also do synonym, concept, phonetic and quorum searches, generate reports, create hypertext links, find word associations, allow for annotations, and much, much more.
