InDesign Index Plug-in for School Yearbooks
Announced by Virginia Systems

March 18, 2003 Midlothian, Virginia. Virginia Systems announced today that it is shipping a special version of its automatic index generator plug-in for InDesign that is aimed at school yearbooks. The inexpensive plug-in, name Sonar Bookends InDex Pro Yearbook Edition and which will only be sold to educational institutions, streamlines the yearbook indexing process into 4 steps:

1. Names in the yearbook are highlighted and marked. To make the marking as quick and easy as possible, no additional information needs to be entered when names are marked. And if there is a list of names separated with commas or carriage returns, the entire list can be highlighted and marked as a single block - the individual names will be separated out automatically.

2. A list of all marked names is generated with a single command. The list has the first and last names of each person reversed, duplicate names removed, and is sorted alphabetically.

3. The list can now be edited if necessary. If a person's name appears in several different variations (Pat Smith, Patricia Smith, Patty Smith, etc.) they can be easily combined into one entry.

4. The index is generated with the click of a mouse. Each alphabetic group of names is preceeded by a group-letter title. The title and the text of the index each have their own style sheet, making formatting the final index easy.

Sonar Bookends InDex Pro YearBook Edition costs $95 for a single user license. Volume discounts are available. The product can be upgraded to the full Sonar Bookends InDex Pro version at any time by paying the difference in price - $300.
